Whats The Matter?

Have you ever wondered what the three types of matter are? Well if you do, now is a great time for you to find out. The first type of matter is liquid. A liquid is something like water, juice, milk or anything that can turn into different shapes by getting poured into a container. Another type of matter is a gas. This is a fluid that has no independent shape or volume, but tends to expand indefinitely. An example for that would be: water vapor. Finally, the last type of matter is a solid. The definition for a solid is; a definite shape and volume, but not a liquid or a gas. Also, it has to be firm or compact in the substance and not hollowed out.For example: a solid block of wood. Thank you for reading about matter! Emily B.

Way to Go!!!

Julia Roy, the third Read Across America finisher. Congrats Julia, you worked extrememly hard and read more pages than anyone so far.

Pi Day

Pi day is celebrated on March 14 at 1:59 PM. This is because the first five digits of pi are 3,1,4,1,5 and 9. Even though pi is an irrational number and has infinite digits, it is usually known by either 3.14 or 3.1415926. It is not a national holiday, but many americans do celebrate it. The top ten ways people celebrate it are: Wearing pi clothing, converting things to pi, playing weird pi games, eating pi foods, pi mile runs, watching the movie "Pi", listening to the song "Pi" by Kate Bush, making pi clubs, getting married on Pi Day and wearing pi hair! The great thing about Pi Day is that the holiday is for everyone! By: Julia Roy

spaceship

I read mateo's writing and it was very good but I have some questions did you ever know that the creatures were in your house, did they leave any tracks or marks? I thought he did good on how he wrote his piece in slow motion insted of saying what it was at the very beginning. I thought that when you came blasting in your friend Kenny's room and woke him up. I enjoyed reading your piece and trying to figure out who was under the rug.
